Job Description:

Tramore Nursing Home are now recruiting for a Clinical Nurse Manager to join our team on a full time basis.

Job Responsibility:

  • Ensure the delivery of the highest standards of nursing and social care
  • Ensure home policies and best clinical standards are always practiced
  • Work with staff to maintain standards and follow up on concerns
  • Review residents with pressure sores/sustained falls/clinical issues
  • Troubleshoot clinical and non-clinical issues
  • Perform comprehensive assessments of residents
  • Supervise medication administration and compliance
  • Order monthly stock and compile inventory
  • Review medication audits
  • Liaise with GPs and pharmacy
  • Work alongside and be a visible presence with Staff Nurses and Care Assistants
  • Participate in Training & Development/Performance Appraisal
  • Work with Care Assistants to ensure professional, caring approach
  • Ensure implementation of Named Nurse and Named Care Assistant practice
  • Assess training needs and implement in-house training
  • Review recent admissions ensuring appropriate care documentation
  • Monitor standards of cleanliness and hygiene
  • Ensure environmental and hand hygiene audits are carried out
  • Carry out medication audits, health & safety audits, risk assessments
  • Audit Epicare and address documentation issues
  • Interact and support residents and families daily
  • Ensure complaints are swiftly dealt with
  • Assist with Director of Nursing responsibilities when covering leave
  • Be responsible for daily activities including checking rosters, attending handovers
  • Support and develop clinical practice through hands-on approach
  • Implement Company Health and Safety Policy

Requirements:

  • BSc in General Nursing or equivalent
  • Previous managerial training / experience is an advantage
  • Registered on the NMBI live register
  • Excellent Leadership, Organisational and Communication skills
  • Sound decision making ability
  • Ability to motivate self and others and work on own initiative
  • Ability to work well and promote a team environment
  • Results driven
