Job Responsibility

  • Ensure delivery of highest standards of nursing and social care
  • Ensure Care Centre policies and best clinical standards are practiced
  • Work with staff to maintain standards and follow up with Director of Nursing
  • Review residents with pressure sores/falls/clinically unwell
  • Troubleshoot clinical and non-clinical issues
  • Perform comprehensive assessments and monitor modifications
  • Supervise medication administration and compliance
  • Order monthly stock and compile inventory
  • Review medication audits with Director of Nursing
  • Liaise with GPs and pharmacy for medication reviews and audits
  • Work with Staff Nurses and Care Assistants
  • Participate in Training & Development/Performance Appraisal
  • Ensure professional caring approach from Care Assistants
  • Implement Named Nurse and Named Care Assistant practice
  • Assess training needs and implement in-house training
  • Review recent admissions and ensure appropriate care documentation
  • Monitor standards of cleanliness and hygiene
  • Ensure environmental and hand hygiene audits are carried out
  • Carry out medication audits, health & safety audits, risk assessments
  • Audit Epicare and address documentation issues
  • Interact and support residents and families daily
  • Handle complaints swiftly
  • Assist with Director of Nursing responsibilities when covering
  • Be responsible for daily activities including rosters, handovers, resident progress
  • Support and develop clinical practice
  • Implement Company Health and Safety Policy

Requirements

  • BSc in General Nursing or equivalent
  • Previous managerial training / experience is an advantage
  • Registered on the NMBI live register
  • Excellent Leadership, Organisational and Communication skills
  • Sound decision making ability
  • Ability to motivate self and others and work on own initiative
  • Ability to work well and promote a team environment
  • Results driven
