Job Description

Develops and provides services related to the orientation, continuing education, and assessment of the ongoing competency of clinical staff.

May perform clinical patient care when needed
Supports an environment that promotes evidence based nursing practice based on nursing research, scientific inquiry, quality improvement, and evidence-based practice
Collaborates with nursing leaders and staff to assess the learning needs and competencies of staff
Assists with developing specific departmental goals, standards, and objectives which directly support the strategic plan and vision of the organization
Participates in research activities, quality improvement, or evidence-based practice initiatives
Participates in the development, coordination, and delivery of all education activities on assigned unit(s)
Manages the onboarding and orientation of all new employees and students on assigned unit(s)
Uses the best available evidence to guide practice decisions
Serves as a consultant/mentor/change agent for staff in areas of program development, clinical practice, and professional development
Plans, updates, and evaluates clinical competencies to assess quality of patient care delivered and ensure regulatory compliance on assigned unit(s)

Bachelors: Nursing (Required)
BLS American Heart E-Card (BLS AHA ECARD) - American Heart Association (AMERICAN HEART), BLS American Heart RQI E-Card (BLS AHA-RQI ECARD) - American Heart Association (AMERICAN HEART), BLS Cert American Heart_non ecard (BLS AHA) - American Heart Association (AMERICAN HEART), BLS Certification Grace (BLS GRACE) - Employee Grace Period for Essential Credential (GRACE), BLS Cert Red Cross (BLS RC) - Red Cross (RED CROSS), Registered Nurse Compact License (RN LICENSE COMPACT) - Compact RN Multistate, Registered Nurse License (RN LICENSE) - State of Florida (FL)
Three (3) years nursing experience
Requires critical thinking skills, effective communication skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision
Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action
