Looking for experienced, compassionate and motivated RN’s to join our amazing ED team! The Avondale Emergency Department is a 40-bed ancillary, level IV trauma ED in the Southwest Valley. The ED provides high quality family-centered care to a wide range of diagnoses, illnesses and injuries. Registered Nurses work collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team to care for patients. Clinical leadership is available on both days and nights to provide ongoing support. The level IV trauma and ED environment requires those with strong critical thinking and decision-making skills, excellent communication and teamwork, as well as the desire to work in a fast paced, dynamic setting. This will be a full-time nights position (7pm - 730am). This position works in collaboration with the healthcare team, patient and family to promote patient health through delivery of professional nursing care appropriate to patients age and condition as documented in the nursing and medical plans of care in accordance with evidence-based nursing and patient care practice standards and hospital goals, values and regulatory standards.
Job Responsibility:
Completes nursing assessment of patient conditions consistent with age and condition
Performs ongoing patient and family assessments and identifies variations from diagnoses
Evaluates patient responses to care, teaching, and discharge plans
Documents patient progress and shares observations with healthcare team and families
Contributes to team effort by accomplishing required activities to ensure compliance with medication, storage and documentation standards
Provides orientation to the unit, hospital systems, and processes to patients and family members
Supervises patient care activities of assigned team members and delegates activities appropriate to knowledge, skill, and competency
Works collaboratively with patient care team and family members to establish and implement plan of care
Fosters a positive learning environment by modeling best practices and providing guidance to students and new employees
Performs miscellaneous job related duties as requested
Requirements:
Two year (ADN) degree in nursing, a four year degree (BSN) in nursing, or a Diploma Nursing degree
Current State of Arizona RN license or an RN license from a compact state with multistate privileges or the ability to establish licensure according to Arizona law prior to start date
Current BLS certification for Healthcare Provider from the American Heart Association prior to start date
Bachelor's degree in Nursing or currently enrolled in an RN to BSN program (Preferred)
At least 1 year working experience as a Clinical Nurse outside of clinical (education) exposure (Preferred)
Previous pediatric ED, acute, or critical care experience preferred
