Job Description:

A well-regarded full-service law firm is seeking a Clinical Negligence Solicitor (1–5 years’ PQE) to join its Birmingham-based defendant clinical negligence team. This is an excellent opportunity to act for NHS bodies, insurers, and other defendant organisations, working on a varied caseload of pre-action and litigated clinical negligence matters. You will be part of a collaborative and supportive team known for its technical strength, pragmatic approach, and commitment to high-quality client service. The firm offers a structured environment with strong supervision, clear progression routes, and exposure to complex, high-value claims.

Job Responsibility:

Managing a caseload of defendant clinical negligence matters from inception through to resolution
Drafting statements of case, witness statements, and expert instructions
Advising clients on liability, causation, quantum, and strategy
Handling claims under the Pre-Action Protocol for the Resolution of Clinical Disputes
Liaising with counsel, medical experts, and client stakeholders
Supporting senior lawyers on complex and high-value matters as required

Requirements:

Qualified Solicitor with 1–5 years’ PQE in clinical negligence or related defendant personal injury work
Strong understanding of civil procedure and pre-action protocols
Excellent drafting, analytical, and case management skills
Commercially minded with a calm, pragmatic approach to dispute resolution
Confident communicator who works well with clients and colleagues alike
