Job Description:

Clinical Lead Vet role at a Veterinary General Practice in Cardiff. Opportunity to join the leadership team at a partner level in an established first opinion practice. The practice is fully equipped with laboratory, diagnostic equipment, surgical facilities, and ward spaces.

Job Responsibility:

  • Develop the practice
  • Work closely with clinical and management teams
  • Help decide what new equipment to invest in
  • Support the wider team with their own development

Requirements:

  • Qualified MRCVS Veterinary Surgeon
  • Extensive clinical experience in a first opinion setting
  • Fully confident with routine procedures
  • Able to handle medical cases
  • Real drive, passion, and interest in making a new branch their own

  • In the absence of a Lead Vet, collaborate with the Practice Manager and Clinical Operations Lead to line manage experienced veterinary surgeons
  • Assist with setting performance goals, conducting appraisals and supporting career development for the veterinary team
  • Assist Practice Manager and Lead Vet in maintaining and improving clinical standards
  • Assist Lead Vet and Practice Manager with clinical audit activity
  • Contribute to clinical governance initiatives by reviewing clinical performance of direct reports
