Job Description:

We are seeking a motivated and experienced professional to provide clinical leadership within a defined area of responsibility in our Operating Department.

Job Responsibility:

  • Lead and support staff to deliver high-quality, patient-centred care
  • Collaborate with fellow clinical leads to oversee day-to-day operational management
  • Ensure the efficient use of staff and resources, contributing to a safe and effective surgical environment
  • Line Management (Approx. 9 people) Clinical 50% (including bleep holding and clinical sessions) Audit Lead Medicine and Gastro Lead Health and Safety Lead Decontamination Lead Sustainability Lead IPC
  • Undertake on call as necessary to the service
  • Management of a designated area ensuring effective utilisation of resources, use of safe practice, adherence to Trust policies and procedures

Requirements:

  • RN Child (RSCN) or RN or ODP diploma of higher education or equivalent theatre related qualification
  • Educated to degree level or clear equivalent experience in a theatre leadership role
  • Paediatric Life Support Qualification
  • Significant post qualification experience
  • Substantial experience of working in busy operational theatre paediatric unit, including out of hours work
  • Experience of managing a specific theatre on a regular basis
  • Will have acquired the knowledge expected to fulfil the role
  • Ability to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary team
  • Ability to perform complex tasks under pressure
  • Able to make judgements involving complex facts and/or situations
  • Health and Safety safe practices knowledge
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to lead large groups of differing personalities
  • Committed to patient care
