Compass Associates are delighted to be partnering with a well-established elderly care provider in the recruitment of a Clinical Lead (RGN/RMN) for a purpose-built nursing home in Northallerton. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Clinical Lead, Clinical Deputy Manager or experienced nurse looking to take the next step into a leadership position. Working closely alongside the Home Manager, you will provide strong clinical leadership while supporting the day-to-day operational running of the service. The home provides high-quality nursing, residential and dementia care within a welcoming environment and is currently on an exciting improvement journey. This role offers the opportunity to play a key part in developing the clinical team while ensuring residents receive outstanding, person-centred care.
Job Responsibility
Support the day-to-day clinical and operational management of the home
Lead, supervise and develop the nursing and care teams
Provide expert clinical guidance and act as a role model for best practice
Ensure care is delivered in line with CQC regulations and professional standards
Promote a culture of kindness, compassion and resident-centred care
Complete one dedicated supernumerary shift each week, allowing time for audits, governance, staff development and wider management responsibilities
Provide strong clinical leadership across the nursing service
Oversee care planning, ensuring care remains person-centred and outcome-focused
Lead on wound care management and maintain competency in PEG management
Monitor residents' clinical needs and respond proactively to any changes
Complete clinical audits and support continuous quality improvement
Ensure safe medication management and adherence to clinical governance
Mentor, coach and develop nursing and care staff
Promote best practice in safeguarding, infection prevention and control, and MCA/DoLS
Support the Home Manager in maintaining an inspection-ready service
Build positive relationships with residents, relatives and external healthcare professionals
Requirements
Registered Nurse (RGN or RMN) with a valid NMC PIN
Full right to work in the UK (no sponsorship available)
Previous experience within an elderly nursing home setting
Experience as a Clinical Lead, Clinical Deputy Manager, Unit Manager or an experienced senior nurse looking to progress
Up-to-date knowledge and competency in wound care
Competency in PEG management
Strong understanding of CQC regulations, clinical governance and compliance
Previous experience leading and managing clinical teams
Excellent communication, organisational and leadership skills
