Job Description:

We are looking for passionate Clinical Laboratory Associates (CLA) to be responsible for assisting our day-to-day operations, providing equipment maintenance in the clinical laboratory, completing the pre-analytical phase of testing (e.g., specimen receipt, accessioning, and plasma/buffy coat isolation), performing quality assurance procedures, while complying with all local, state, and federal laboratory requirements. The Clinical Laboratory Associate (CLA) is an onsite position (Union City or Menlo Park) and provides a great opportunity for career growth - at BillionToOne, we offer an array of career growth opportunities and a clear growth tracks supported by our performance reviews (every 6 months). Shift Hours: Tuesday - Saturday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM

Job Responsibility:

  • Perform sample accessioning and isolation procedures according to the laboratory’s standard operating procedures
  • Prepare documents for equipment and personnel records
  • Perform and document routine maintenance of equipment
  • Prepare other clinical documentation as required and assigned
  • Clean labware, equipment, and benches
  • Prepare reagents required for testing
  • Write and review controlled documents as assigned

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in biology or clinical related sciences
  • At least 6 months of experience with molecular biology techniques in a research or clinical laboratory
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • The ability to multitask and work independently
  • Previous clinical laboratory experience is preferred

Nice to have:

  • Start-up experience
  • Biophysics, Molecular biology (DNA purification, PCR, electrophoresis) or next-generation DNA sequencing laboratory experience
