Under general supervision, performs waived, moderate, and high complexity testing; evaluates test results; performs and evaluates quality control procedures; performs preventive maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting. Provides laboratory services in a timely manner and consistently delivers excellent customer service. Serves as a technical resource for customers and other staff. Adheres to all safety policies. Performs other related CLS functions as required. The Rapid Response Lab provides services to Jacobs Medical Center, Moore’s Cancer, and other outpatient areas. A CLS performs patient testing and works in subspecialty areas of the laboratory - Hematology, Coagulation, Chemistry, Urinalysis, Microbiology, and Blood Gas.
Job Responsibility:

Requirements:
Must have a current Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) or appropriate sub-specialty license issued by the State of California, Department of Public Health
Graduation from college with a major in a relevant field
Strong math skills
Manual dexterity
Demonstrated ability in teaching, critical thinking and problem solving
Knowledge and abilities essential to the successful performance of duties assigned to the position
Excellent communication skills, including the ability to communicate clearly verbally and in writing
Nice to have:
Bachelor’s degree
Degree in Medical Technology from an NAACLS accredited MT program
Recent experience in a Stem Cell Processing, Blood Bank, Hematology Laboratory, or similar environment
Generalist Clinical lab experience
At least two years of applicable clinical laboratory experience
