Accountable for performing laboratory procedures using a variety of instruments and procedures. Performs laboratory analyses on blood and various body fluids to obtain data on which a diagnosis of health or disease can be made and appropriate therapy initiated. Areas of responsibility may include one or more of the following: hematology, coagulation, immunohematology, microbiology, clinical chemistry, immunology, urinalysis, molecular biology, histopathology, and point of care testing (POCT).

Requirements
College Degree - 4 year Consistent with State of California CLS Licensure requirements (required)
CLS - Clinical Lab Scientist License - CDPH - California Department of Public Health or Public Health Microbiologist - CDPH - California Department of Public Health license is required for all levels
Minimum one (1) year Clinical laboratory (full-time) (preferred)
Two (2) years of full-time equivalent clinical laboratory experience required (for CLS II)
