Provides a comprehensive clinical orientation and instruction of direct patient care to newly hired or existing nursing staff within the unit level. Coordinates with head nurses in developing educational programs for nursing staff according to staff educational/orientation needs. Works under the direction of the Nurse Educator and Nursing Director.
Job Responsibility:
Assesses educational needs of existing nursing staff on the basis of staff evaluation and unit head nurse recommendations
Participates in planning nursing educational activities in coordination with the head nurses and Nurse Educator
Participates in the staff clinical performance evaluation
Reports to Nurse Educator findings on staff’s poor performance skills
Prepares educational plan and objectives to be used during clinical instructions
Conducts bedside lectures and follow-ups according to lesson plans and desired objectives
Evaluates new nursing staff’s clinical performance and guides them accordingly
Establishes encourages and supports nursing care conferences with assigned nursing staff in the wards
Assesses nursing care plan of patients and guides, nursing staff, in writing and making appropriate adjustments
Participates and conducts general orientation to new staff
Requirements:
Bachelor of Nursing plus Master’s degree in Nursing/Healthcare
10 years’ experience with 3 years’ experience in nursing the same role
