Job Description

We are on a mission to ensure everyone has access to medical expertise, no matter where they are. Half the world still lacks access to quality healthcare. Even in advanced systems, outcomes are uneven, and clinicians are overwhelmed. Medical knowledge grows faster than human capacity can keep up. Corti is building the infrastructure to close that gap. Our AI platform expands access to medical expertise, reducing errors, restoring time to clinicians, and making care more affordable, accessible, and human again. There is no quality healthcare without a quality dialogue, and no reliable AI without a strong foundation. Help us build both. Why Corti? Corti is building the intelligence layer for global healthcare. We give every developer, product team, and healthcare innovator access to medical-grade AI, so the world can deliver care that is faster, safer, and more human. Built entirely for healthcare and adjacent industries, Corti’s models are trained on real-world data and optimized for precision, safety, and regulatory trust. Through modular APIs, teams can embed medical speech recognition, summarization, reasoning, and much more directly into healthcare products without reinventing the foundation. We power the builders who are redefining how healthcare works, from startups creating new patient experiences to enterprises modernizing the systems that care depends on. If you believe that AI purpose-built for medicine will define the next century of healthcare, you belong at Corti. The Role At the Clinical Innovation Team we are obsessed with two things: that we create impeccable assistance that is safe, useful and correct, and that AI leads to growth of the professional, instead of atrophy. As a Clinician Innovation Specialist you will operate at the intersection of clinical science and AI development. You bring both an MD and a PhD, and—more importantly—a deep commitment to scientific thinking. You’re motivated by a fundamental question: how do we truly know if a clinical AI system works? Here, you’ll help answer it. This Role Spans Three Interconnected Areas Product & Evaluation – shaping how we measure and improve our systems Customer & Partner Collaboration – grounding our work in real clinical experience Scientific Visibility – helping articulate and validate our approach externally You’ll work closely with engineers across text generation, agent systems, medical coding, and speech recognition, embedding scientific rigour into everything we build. At the same time, you’ll translate frontline clinical insight into measurable evaluation frameworks—closing the loop between what clinicians experience and what we quantify. The work is applied first. We engage seriously with the scientific community, frequently open-sourcing, publishing, and contributing to the field, but the primary focus is product improvement. You’ll help build the scientific backbone that makes our products exceptional—and trustworthy. What You'll Be Doing Evaluation & Product Development Collaborate with our engineers to develop and refine evaluation approaches for clinical AI, both in the backend and in pragmatic evaluations of the final product Run experiments and build prototypes: you will test ideas hands-on and tinker with their settings and architecture Bring statistical and methodological rigour to product decisions, partner discussions, and regulatory inputs Critically assess relevant clinical literature and translate insights into product improvements Customer & Partner Collaboration Represent Corti's scientific approach in selected partner and customer engagements Translate qualitative clinical observations and feedback into measurable, testable evaluation criteria Close the loop between clinician experience and system performance Contribute to prompt and workflow improvements tailored to customer and partner needs External Scientific Presence Produce high-quality scientific output (case studies, white papers, regulatory contributions, conference presence) that builds Corti's credibility with clinical decision-makers, procurement, and regulators Contribute to clear, compelling artifacts that that communicate our methodology and evidence base What You Bring MD with some postgraduate clinical experience A PhD demonstrating high quality research output involving significant data manipulation and analysis The ability to move seamlessly between clinical reasoning and quantitative thinking A genuine love for data, statistics and scientific inquiry, not just as tools but as a way of thinking Curiosity about how things work at a technical level, and humility to learn from engineers and colleagues with very different backgrounds Comfort with ambiguity: you can define problems, propose methods, and move forward without predefined answers Openness to working with agentic coding as a core workflow—you don’t need to be an expert on day one, but curiosity and a genuine desire to learn Valuable But Not Essential Clinical fluency in German or French Experience with NLP, ML evaluation, or AI benchmarking Experience with agentic coding or data analysis tooling
