Job Description:

The School of Nursing at Eastern Kentucky University invites applications for a full-time clinical faculty position for academic year 2026-2027. The position serves the School of Nursing. The position begins August 2026.

Job Responsibility:

  • Teach across nursing programs in both undergraduate and graduate didactic and clinical courses in a workload consistent with the needs and priorities of the college and institution
  • Conduct academic advising or review of student applications to graduate program
  • Participate in department committees
  • Demonstrate knowledge of artificial intelligence pertinent to the discipline and/or a willingness to pursue professional development to acquire such expertise

Requirements:

  • Earned Masters of Science in Nursing or related field from an accredited institution (verified by official transcripts) at time of appointment
  • Minimum 2 years of clinical nursing experience
  • Knowledge of current practices in professional nursing
  • Effective interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Analytic and problems solving skills
  • Active and effective listening skills
  • Ability to collaborate with peers and students
  • Ability to understand and adapt to current trends in professional nursing
  • Active & unencumbered nursing license in the state of KY or compact state

Nice to have:

  • A minimum of two (2) years experience teaching at the college or university level (didactic, clinical and/or online)
  • A minimum of two (2) years of nursing experience in mental health nursing or as a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner
  • A doctoral degree (verified by official transcripts) in nursing or a related field is preferred
  • MSN as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and doctoral degree (verified by official transcripts) in nursing or a related field is preferred
