The Department of Occupational Science and Occupational Therapy at Eastern Kentucky University invites applications for a Clinical Faculty beginning Academic Year 2026-2027. The position serves the BS in Occupational Science program and Occupational Therapy Doctorate (professional and post-professional concentrations). The successful candidate will teach undergraduate and graduate courses in a faculty workload consistent with the needs and priorities of the college and institution. In addition, membership and participation in state, regional, national, or international professional organizations is recommended. The University places a high priority on being leaders in the responsible use of artificial intelligence and in building such capacity in our students. The successful candidate will demonstrate knowledge of artificial intelligence pertinent to the discipline and/or a willingness to pursue professional development to acquire such expertise. We encourage applicants with demonstrated experience in leveraging artificial intelligence (AI) in research or professional practice, particularly as it advances innovation within the discipline.
Job Responsibility:
Maintain a faculty workload consistent with the needs and priorities of the college and institution, teaching courses as assigned in areas of expertise, in formats including in person, hybrid, and online
Utilize effective teaching methods, innovative teaching techniques, and teaching modalities, and multiple evaluation and assessment procedures to help meet the needs of EKU students
Demonstrate the ability to teach, develop, and implement courses related to expertise
Keep up to date with one’s field and curricular areas by reading and reviewing current scholarly or creative works and by attending conferences, seminars, workshops, courses, and faculty development activities
Demonstrate the willingness and ability to work effectively with colleagues to support the mission of EKU, its academic units, and its campus community
Requirements:
Applicants must have a research or clinical doctorate in occupational therapy or a related field from an accredited institution at the time of appointment
Must have licensure in Kentucky and initial NBCOT certification at the time of appointment
ABD applicants may be considered with evidence of a scheduled doctoral defense that occurs no later than May prior to a Fall appointment
A minimum of two (1) year of experience teaching at the college or university level
A minimum of two (2) years of clinical experience in one or more of the following areas: physical rehabilitation, community-based practice, behavioral health, and/or pediatrics

Knowledge of current practices in occupational science and occupational therapy
