Job Description:

The Department of Emergency Medicine at the University of Tennessee College of Medicine Chattanooga is seeking board-certified or board-eligible emergency physicians for full-time clinical faculty positions on the Clinical track. This is an opportunity to practice high-acuity emergency medicine at the region’s only Level I Trauma Center while contributing to the education of the next generation of emergency physicians.

Job Responsibility:

  • Provide direct patient care in the emergency department at Erlanger Baroness Hospital and satellite emergency departments
  • Supervise and teach emergency medicine residents and medical students during clinical shifts
  • Maintain board certification and meet continuing medical education requirements

Requirements:

  • MD or DO degree from an accredited institution
  • Completion of an ACGME-accredited emergency medicine residency program
  • Board certified or board eligible in Emergency Medicine (ABEM or AOBEM)
  • Minimum of two (2) years of post-residency clinical experience, OR one (1) year of clinical experience plus completion of an ACGME-accredited fellowship
  • Eligible for unrestricted medical licensure in the State of Tennessee
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States

  • Fellowship training in a relevant subspecialty (e.g., ultrasound, EMS, toxicology, simulation, critical care)
  • Demonstrated commitment to medical education and resident teaching
