Job Description

The Valley Children’s Clinical Education Department is responsible for the network-wide provision of clinical orientation, clinical education and staff development programs, services and resources that advance the strategic goals of Valley Children’s Healthcare and meet the needs of clinical staff at all locations. The team conducts educational planning that is consistent with multiple regulatory standards for the various patient care settings, and is based on information from performance improvement activities, on-going needs assessment, and a variety of health care advances. Services available to organizational departments include instruction, facilitation, curriculum development, and consultation. The department operates with the understanding that continuing education enhances participants’ knowledge, skills and attitudes so that they may continually improve the quality of service they provide to patients and families.

Job Responsibility

  • Accountable for planning, promoting, coordinating, implementing and evaluating education activities
  • Accountable, in collaboration with area leadership teams, for promoting a continuous learning environment that supports ongoing staff development for assigned clinical areas
  • This position practices within the scope of the Nursing Practice act, and in accordance with Valley Children's Hospital policies.

Requirements

  • College Degree - 4 year (required)
  • RN - Registered Nurse License - CA-BRN - California Board of Registered Nursing (required)
  • BLS - Basic Life Support - AHA - American Heart Association within 30 days of hire or transfer into position (required)
  • NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation Program - AHA - American Heart Association within 12 months of hire or transfer into position (required)
  • Minimum three (3) years Related experience (required)
  • Demonstrates the skills necessary to plan, implement and evaluate clinical education programs using appropriate educational principles.
