Job Description:

The Clinical Educator will participate in planning, organizing, and evaluation of patient care in the perioperative services departments under the guidance and supervision of the Corporate Director Perioperative Services and Vice President of Nursing. This position helps to develop and maintain high quality, evidence-based care through education and training to achieve optimal patient outcomes and a high level of patient satisfaction. This position supports the nursing team and fosters a strong relationship with the leadership, medical staff, and employees.

Job Responsibility:

  • Participate in planning, organizing, and evaluation of patient care in the perioperative services departments under the guidance and supervision of the Corporate Director Perioperative Services and Vice President of Nursing
  • Help to develop and maintain high quality, evidence-based care through education and training to achieve optimal patient outcomes and a high level of patient satisfaction
  • Support the nursing team and foster a strong relationship with the leadership, medical staff, and employees

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree required
  • Master’s Degree preferred
  • Previous experience as an educator preferred
  • Two years’ experience in perioperative services preferred
  • Excellent customer service skills required
  • Current California RN license
  • BCLS required
  • ACLS required within 3 months of hire/transfer
  • PALS required within 3 months of hire/transfer
  • Assaultive Behavior Training Certification that meets AB508 and SB1299 required within 30 days of hire/transfer
  • New hires that have completed Assaultive Behavior training outside of Emanate Health will be required to complete Emanate Health Work Place Violence online awareness module within 30 days of hire/transfer
  • National Institutes of Health (NIH) Stroke Scale Certification "A" required within 3 months of hire/transfer
  • Annual 8 hours of Stroke Education
  • CNOR, CPAN, or CAPA specialty certification required
