Job Description

The Clinical Educator I – Travel ensures that Sterile Processing staff, both internal and external to STERIS, are properly trained and operating within the guidelines set forth by various industry standards and regulations including, but not limited to HSPA, CBSPD, AORN, The Joint Commission, FDA, CDC, DNV OSHA, AAMI and those of STERIS and its customer facilities. Performs various educational duties under supervision and guidance from Manager, Clinical Education, and/or onsite operations leadership. Potential to support and work alongside all instrument processing solutions to include but not limited to continuous improvement, off site reprocessing centers and/or outsourced engagements. Travel positions require up to 100% domestic travel.

Job Responsibility

  • Design and implement comprehensive training plans aligned with facility priorities and individual staff development needs
  • Facilitate multi-week, hands-on training programs for all new Sterile Processing team members to ensure readiness and compliance from day one
  • Maintain detailed documentation of training activities and regularly review programs to ensure alignment with industry standards and accreditation requirements
  • Conduct regular evaluations to identify skill gaps and create targeted development plans for continuous team improvement
  • Develop and deliver ongoing education sessions focused on the latest products, technologies, and best practices in Sterile Processing
  • Partner with clinical and administrative teams to ensure training initiatives support broader organizational goals
  • Foster a learning environment that encourages professional growth, accountability, and high performance

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • 3+ years’ experience in Sterile Processing
  • 3+ years’ experience in training
  • Sterile processing certification required
  • Must be able to be compliant with hospital/customer credentialing requirements
