Job Description:

The Clinical Dietitian plans, directs, and provides medical nutrition therapy (MNT) to inpatients and outpatients with Chronic Kidney Disease. The dietitian is responsible for nutrition screenings, assessments, the prescription of nutrition orders, ongoing monitoring of patients’ care, and documentation of care plan in accordance with department and hospital policies. The dietitian provides education to patients, students, community members, and health care staff, and acts as a clinical preceptor to dietetic students in accordance with ASCEND guidelines and affiliation agreements. The dietitian participates in department and hospital-wide activities pertaining to quality improvement, professional development and community education. This position is supporting our Rutland Dialysis Outpatient Unit.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nutrition or Dietetics
  • registration with the Commission on Dietetic Registration
  • Vermont State Certification as a dietitian
  • 1 year relevant clinical experience
  • experience in providing MNT to acute inpatients whose needs include oral, enteral (via tube) and parenteral nutrition
  • experience in recommending and treating inpatients and outpatients with culturally diverse backgrounds needing oral therapeutic diets
