This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Registered Nurse with leadership experience to step into a senior clinical role within a supportive environment. The home provides care for older adults with a mixed resident profile including dementia, stroke history and learning disabilities. Working closely alongside an experienced Home Manager, the Clinical Deputy Manager will play a key role in overseeing clinical standards, supporting the nursing team and ensuring the delivery of safe, effective and person-centred care. The role offers a balanced structure of supernumerary leadership time alongside clinical shifts, allowing the successful candidate to remain hands-on while supporting governance and compliance. With a CQC inspection anticipated, this role will suit a confident clinician who is comfortable supporting regulatory compliance and maintaining high-quality care standards.
Job Responsibility:
Support the Home Manager with the day-to-day leadership and operational management of the home
Oversee the delivery of high-quality clinical care and medication management
Line manage and support a team of 4–5 nurses alongside the wider care team
Complete clinical assessments and care plan reviews
Lead on clinical governance processes including falls management and safeguarding
Support with DoLS applications and compliance requirements
Promote a positive culture of accountability, coaching and continuous improvement
Ensure the service remains CQC compliant and inspection ready
Step into the Home Manager role during periods of annual leave or absence
Participate in a rolling on-call rota
Requirements:
Registered Nurse (RGN or RMN) with an active NMC PIN
Previous experience in a Clinical Lead, Deputy Manager, Nurse Manager or Senior Nurse position
Strong knowledge of CQC regulations and care home governance
Experience supporting clinical audits, safeguarding and quality assurance
Ability to lead teams, coach staff and maintain high standards of care
Confident communicator able to work autonomously and at pace
