Compass Associates are proud to be working in partnership with a well-established elderly care provider to recruit a Clinical Deputy Manager (RGN) for one of their nursing homes based in Suffolk. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Clinical Lead Nurse, Deputy Manager or Senior Nurse who is looking to join a stable, well-performing nursing home with strong occupancy levels, excellent staff retention and a supportive leadership structure. The home provides nursing, residential and dementia care for older adults and is led by an experienced clinical Home Manager. The service benefits from an established team, positive culture and a genuine focus on delivering high-quality, person-centred care. Working closely alongside the Home Manager, the Clinical Deputy Manager will play a key role in maintaining clinical standards, supporting the nursing team, driving best practice and ensuring residents continue to receive exceptional care. This position would particularly suit an ambitious nurse leader who is passionate about elderly care and is looking to progress towards Home Management in the future.
Job Responsibility
Support the Home Manager with the day-to-day operational and clinical management of the service
Provide strong leadership and guidance to nursing and care teams
Ensure safe, effective and person-centred care is delivered at all times
Lead by example through a hands-on approach to clinical care and resident support
Support staff development through coaching, mentoring and clinical supervision
Monitor care plans, risk assessments and clinical documentation
Ensure safe medication management and adherence to best practice
Participate in clinical audits, governance processes and quality improvement initiatives
Support CQC compliance and regulatory requirements
Assist with staffing, rota management and operational oversight when required
Participate in the shared on-call rota and provide management support across the home
Occasionally support clinical shifts, including long days and nights where operationally required
Requirements
Registered General Nurse (RGN) with an active NMC PIN
Previous experience as a Clinical Lead Nurse, Deputy Manager, Unit Manager or Senior Nurse
Strong elderly care and nursing home experience
Confident leading teams and managing clinical standards
Good understanding of CQC regulations, governance and compliance
Strong communication, leadership and organisational skills
Positive, enthusiastic and proactive approach
Ambition to develop professionally and progress within elderly care management
Flexibility to support the operational needs of the home, including occasional nights and participation in the on-call rota
