Compass Associates are proud to be working in partnership with a well-established and high-performing care provider to recruit a Clinical Deputy Manager (RGN) for a large, reputable nursing home in Leicester. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced nurse looking to step into a predominantly supernumerary leadership role, supporting the Home Manager in the clinical and operational delivery of a 90+ bed nursing and residential service. The home provides care to residents with a range of needs including nursing, residential, dementia and complex care, alongside a specialist bariatric unit. The service is fully occupied, has a strong local reputation, and is rated ‘Good’ by the CQC, with excellent internal and local authority performance. Working closely with the Home Manager, the Clinical Deputy Manager will play a key role in ensuring high clinical standards, regulatory compliance, and continuous quality improvement across the service. This role will suit a confident and experienced nurse with strong leadership skills who is passionate about delivering high-quality care and supporting the development of clinical teams.
Job Responsibility
Provide clinical leadership and oversight across all units within the service
Support the Home Manager with day-to-day clinical and operational management
Lead on clinical governance, audits, and compliance processes
Ensure care plans and risk assessments are accurate, up to date, and person-centred
Oversee medication management and clinical practices in line with regulatory standards
Monitor resident wellbeing and respond effectively to changes in condition
Support and mentor nurses and care staff, promoting continuous development
Drive best practice in areas such as safeguarding, MCA/DoLS, infection control and wound care
Ensure the service remains inspection-ready and compliant with CQC standards
Work collaboratively with families, professionals, and external stakeholders
Requirements
Registered Nurse (RGN) with an active NMC PIN
Strong clinical background within elderly nursing homes or complex care settings
Experience in a Senior Nurse / Clinical Lead / Deputy Manager position
Strong knowledge of CQC standards, governance, and compliance
Experience leading audits, care planning, and clinical best practice
Confident supporting and developing clinical teams
Excellent communication and leadership skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced, large care home environment
A proactive and solutions-focused approach to care delivery
