Job Description:

As Care Home Clinical Deputy Manager at Harbour Healthcare, you'll support the delivery of the quality care we're known for. Working closely with the Home Manager and taking on leadership duties in their absence, you can expect to help with everything from ensuring care standards to motivating your team. You'll inspire the team to make sure they help every resident to enjoy the best possible quality of life. That means leading by example and monitoring standards through regular audits, supervised clinical practice and checking our regulatory compliance. You'll set the highest standards and draw on your skills to develop and deliver strategies that will help you achieve your goals.

Job Responsibility:

Requirements:

  • Registered Nurse (RN/RMN) with current NMC registration
  • mentoring/supervision experience
  • experience in helping residents with different health needs
  • successful track record of managing safeguarding investigations and clinical risk assessments
  • understanding of person centred care and positive behavioural support
  • strong leadership skills with a highly motivated approach
  • highly organised and detail-oriented, with excellent written and verbal skills
  • substantial experience working with dementia care
  • valid NMC PIN and RGN / RMN qualification

  • Support and participate in safeguarding and whistleblowing investigations, attending meetings as required
  • Work with homes to maintain high occupancy levels, drive private occupancy where appropriate and support positive resident and relative experiences
  • Support effective payroll management, cost control and workforce planning to minimise or eliminate agency usage
  • Review compliance reports, QA evidence and performance data, translating findings into clear, practical actions
  • Support completion of monthly Quality Assurance Framework (QAF) requirements and ensure evidence meets CQC expectations
  • Conduct focused audits (e.g. care planning, medication, infection control, pressure care and clinical monitoring) and produce clear summary reports
  • Provide hands-on operational and clinical support during periods of challenge, change or instability
