Job Description:

An established independent mental health hospital set within landscaped grounds in Essex is seeking a Clinical, Forensic or Counselling Psychologist to join its specialist Eating Disorders Unit. This service provides structured inpatient, day-care and outpatient treatment for adults and adolescents experiencing complex mental health presentations, including eating disorders. The environment is recovery-focused, therapeutic and multidisciplinary, with a strong emphasis on psychological formulation and evidence-based care. This is an opportunity to join a highly experienced team of psychiatrists, psychologists, nurses and therapists, contributing meaningfully to patient recovery within a well-resourced, private healthcare setting.

Job Responsibility:

  • Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments and develop formulation-led treatment plans
  • Deliver evidence-based individual and group interventions (CBT and/or DBT approaches desirable)
  • Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to support holistic patient care
  • Support emotional regulation and recovery planning for individuals with eating disorders
  • Facilitate psychoeducation for patients and families
  • Contribute to MDT meetings, risk discussions and care reviews
  • Participate in service development initiatives and clinical supervision

Requirements:

  • HCPC-registered Clinical, Forensic or Counselling Psychologist
  • Recognised doctoral-level qualification
  • Minimum 1 year’s experience working with eating disorder presentations
  • Experience conducting structured psychological assessments
  • Competence in CBT
  • DBT experience desirable
  • Strong MDT collaboration skills
  • Resilience, emotional intelligence and ability to work in a dynamic inpatient environment
