The Department of Surgery at SUNY Buffalo located in Buffalo, New York is seeking a third multiorgan transplant surgeon to join our faculty. The qualified candidate must have completed an approved fellowship in multiorgan transplantation and obtained an ASTS certificate and have at least 2 years of faculty experience. Responsibilities will include direct patient care, teaching of residents and medical students, developing collaborative programs with affiliated institutions and actively participating in the transplant research efforts. Some experience in laparoscopic donor nephrectomy and pancreas transplant are desirable. Candidates should be eligible for faculty appointment at SUNY Buffalo at the rank of Assistant Professor or higher on the basis of research and educational achievements. This recruitment is part of the key strategic growth initiative at SUNY Buffalo to combine the transplant programs at Buffalo General Hospital and Erie County Medical Center into a single large volume program performing between 100-150 kidney transplants per year. Merger of the two programs will be accommodated by beautiful new physical facilities.
