The Epilepsy Center at Boston Children’s Hospital provides testing, evaluation, treatment, and counseling for children of all ages and abilities who have epilepsy and seizures. We deliver skilled, compassionate care through the full range of medical, dietary, noninvasive, and surgical treatments.
Job Responsibility:
Assisting clinicians during examinations
Assisting EEG technologists in Epilepsy department with removal of EEG electrodes
Performing documentation of skin integrity during long term monitoring of EEG at the patient bedside
Collecting, verifying and recording required information according to established procedures and instructions
Identifying and reporting unusual findings or changes in patient condition to Registered Nurse
Collecting and organizing medical records, information, materials and supplies required for admissions or encounters
Preparing requisitions and other standard forms as requested by clinician or supervisor
Verifying, recording and processing patient demographics, insurance/payment and referral information for patient encounters
Collecting all necessary clinical documentation and information
Answering, screening and routing telephone calls
Recording and forwarding messages and triaging calls for urgent information or services
Responding to requests for routine information or assistance within scope of knowledge and authority
Initiating call for emergency services as required
Requirements:
A High School Diploma or equivalent
1 year Clinical Assistant experience preferred
