The Clinical Applications Specialist plays a key role in driving the adoption, integration, and utilization of the Focal One® Robotic HIFU System. Combining clinical expertise with consultative collaboration, this individual partners with surgeons to ensure optimal outcomes, sustainable program growth, and long-term success of each Focal One site. The CAS supports both the clinical learning curve and the utilization strategy—providing procedural support, training, and development of tools to share best practices and expand adoption.
Job Responsibility:
Provide expert procedural support and workflow guidance to physicians and OR teams during HIFU cases
Support new site launches and guide early adopters to clinical independence
Deliver comprehensive training to physicians, nurses, SPD staff, and OR managers to ensure safe and proficient system use
Support professional education initiatives including workshops, peer-to-peer training, and society meetings
Collaborate with regional sales team and hospital stakeholders to grow procedure adoption and optimize outcomes and efficiency
Support product introductions, software upgrades, through consultative discussions focused on clinical and operational value
Track utilization performance metrics, report activity outcomes, and manage administrative requirements (reports, weekly plans, team calls, expense reporting, etc.)
Partner closely with the Clinical Sales, Clinical Marketing, Service, and Commercial Sales teams to ensure consistent user experience and alignment of best practices
Create and refine educational tools and reference materials that elevate surgeon training, procedure consistency, and strengthen the clinical and commercial ecosystem
Collaborate with Marketing, Product, and R&D to share field insights and enhance user experience
Contribute to national training initiatives and projects that expand national best practices, surgeon education and program success
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in healthcare, biomedical engineering, or related field preferred
3–5 years of experience in clinical applications, medical device consultative sales, or healthcare program support
Proven experience supporting or implementing technologies in the surgical or imaging environment
Preference for 2+ years of experience in urologic oncology and/or ultrasound scanning in a patient-care or procedural setting
Strong communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills
High technical aptitude with the ability to teach and troubleshoot complex systems
Ability to travel nationally up to 60-75%, including nights and weekends as needed
often on short notice
Preference to be located near major airline hub
Ability to lift 30–50 lbs for equipment setup
Ability to manage administrative responsibilities including
Expense reports, team meetings, weekly reports and post -procedural follow-up efficiently
