Job Description:

Clinical Applications Analyst Senior at Tucson Medical Center. Supports and optimizes Epic clinical documentation workflows. On-site role in Tucson, AZ. Partners with clinicians and Information Services to improve workflows and deliver high-quality Epic solutions supporting safe, efficient patient care. Provides advanced support and expertise to clinical units. Formulates and defines system scope and objectives through research and fact-finding. Plans, analyzes, designs, performs structured testing, prepares technical specifications, and troubleshoots. Mentors and supports clinical applications analysts and team members.

Job Responsibility:

  • Support and optimize Epic clinical documentation applications
  • Collaborate with clinicians to improve workflows
  • Design, test, and maintain Epic build
  • Support process improvement and change management
  • Provide on-site Epic user support
  • Participate in upgrades and ongoing maintenance
  • Drive design and implementation of new clinical processes and optimized system configuration
  • Lead and facilitate design sessions to achieve improvements
  • Define requirements and assist in designing improved processes utilizing clinical information system
  • Influence clinical leadership and management decisions
  • Meet with customers frequently and provide frequent written status updates
  • Identify solutions to complex clinical directives or implementation impediments
  • Provide consultative services to customers and technologists
  • Participate and support other team members in on call support and customer rounding activities
  • Solve production and maintenance problems, document processes and create action plans
  • Execute comprehensive testing plans to verify critical outputs and system integrity
  • Write SOWs
  • Oversee and direct activities with vendor
  • Schedule loading bundles and fixes with vendor, systems group and customers
  • Examine techniques and determine appropriate changes to effect improvements
  • Maintain knowledge of expanding technical and clinical expertise
  • Ensure new or modified clinical information systems maintain patient confidentiality and privacy in accordance with HIPAA, TJC, and other regulatory agencies
  • Adhere to TMC organizational and department-specific safety, confidentiality, values policies and standards
  • Perform related duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Experience supporting clinical workflows in healthcare
  • Epic application build or support experience
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, healthcare, business, or related field
  • Four (4) years of work experience in a healthcare setting
  • Three (3) years of clinical applications analyst experience with Epic
  • One (1) year of project management related experience
  • Epic application certification(s) preferred: ASAP, Stork, Inpatient, or Hospice
  • Recommend clinicians including RN's maintain current state licensure preferred
  • Will be required to certify on one or more Epic applications and maintain certification

Nice to have:

  • Master’s degree or equivalent experience in clinical applications
  • Epic application certification(s) including ASAP, Stork, Inpatient, or Hospice
  • Current state licensure for clinicians including RN's
