Job Description:

This is a PRN position for Maternal Fetal Medicine, with no on-call duties, holidays, or weekends. As our Sonographer, you will utilize advanced sonographic equipment to record detailed images of blood, organs, tissues, and bodily masses, including unborn fetuses, providing critical visual data for diagnosis and prenatal care.

Job Responsibility:

  • Assesses patients and their abilities to participate in ordered procedures
  • Provides a clear explanation of the procedure including
  • duration, process, and what to expect following completion
  • Provides patient education as appropriate
  • Obtains patient consent for care and ensures patient confidentiality
  • Selects proper equipment, setting correct technical factors, procedure protocols and gathering proper supplies prior to performance of the procedure
  • Obtains clear and complete history from the patient and or patient record and records that data into patient record to assist in image interpretation and future patient encounters
  • Performs quality assessment of images obtained and is able to evaluate equipment issues and escalates concerns as indicated
  • Utilize advanced sonographic equipment to record detailed images of blood, organs, tissues, and bodily masses, including unborn fetuses
  • Directly interact with patients, explaining procedures, answering questions, and preparing them for scans
  • Meticulously operate sonographic equipment, adjusting settings and patient positions to ensure clear, diagnostic images
  • Monitor and care for patients to ensure their safety and comfort
  • Select and examine images for pathologies
  • Present preliminary findings to Physicians

Requirements:

  • Graduate of a Diagnostic Medical Sonography program., upon hire
  • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer, within 6 - months or Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer OB/GYN, within 6 - months
  • Basic Life Support - CPR, upon hire
