Job Description

As a Clinic Registered Nurse (RN), you will be a central figure in our patient care team, delivering exceptional, compassionate care that truly makes a difference in our patients' lives. Franciscan Medical Group, as part of Virginia Mason Franciscan Health, is currently seeking a full time Clinic RN for the Franciscan Women's Health Associates Clinic in Tacoma, WA. We are looking for an engaged, energetic and passionate RN interested in high quality patient care. This team of RNs supports our Pierce County Women's clinics for triage as well as NSTs & nurse visits. This positions requires critical thinking to provide triage support and patient education. Job Responsibility

  • Delivers professional nursing care to clinic patients
  • performs diagnostic testing and related clinical procedures
  • independently triages nursing situations
  • Performs a variety of patient assessment/care tests
  • Makes independent wound assessments and performs complex wound care and dressing changes
  • Inserts and/or removes tubes, drains, urinary catheters, including removal of peripherally-inserted central catheter (PICC)
  • applies splints/braces
  • Instructs patients in the collection of samples and other tests
  • Informs patients of lab results, calls in prescriptions to pharmacies and returns practitioners’ phone messages.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited school of nursing, upon hire
  • Registered Nurse: WA, upon hire
  • Basic Life Support - CPR, upon hire
  • One year RN work experience in a clinic setting OR two years of acute care RN work experience (preferred)
