Job Description:

As our Phlebotomist, you will play a vital role in determining patient diagnoses and treatment by expertly performing blood collection and specimen processing, ensuring the highest level of patient care.

Job Responsibility:

  • Expertly obtain and process blood specimens via capillary or venipuncture
  • Ensure integrity, proper disposal, and timely distribution of specimens to testing areas
  • Perform clerical duties
  • Prioritize patient comfort
  • Collect and prepare ordered specimens for laboratory analysis
  • Perform patient point of care testing
  • Ensure required safety checklists and quality controls are completed and action taken if indicated
  • Clean and sterilize instruments
  • Ensure patient exam rooms are stocked, clean, and orderly
  • Escalate non-routine issues, questions and/or concerns timely and appropriately

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association required upon hire
  • 1 year of phlebotomy experience strongly preferred
