Job Description

As our Clinic LPN, you will responsible for registering, collecting payments, rooming, assisting the provider with care and treatment, discharging, and following-up with patients. It is the role of the Clinical LPN to companion patients and their secondary guests through the entire experience to maximize clinical excellence, reduce treatment times, and maximize the patient experience; before, during, and after the patient visit.

Job Responsibility

  • Registering, collecting payments, rooming, assisting the provider with care and treatment, discharging, and following-up with patients
  • Companion patients and their secondary guests through the entire experience
  • Assist the provider with front office and back office duties in the outpatient management of patients on a rotating basis
  • Responsible for a variety of clinical functions within a clinic setting
  • Act as the patient advocate
  • Welcome the patient and secondary guest(s)
  • Collect identification and payor related documentation, conduct patient registration, and perform point of service collection
  • Measure and collect patient data
  • Document all data accurately into the patient medical record
  • Collect and document patient reason for visit and chief complaint, allergies, health history, and current medications
  • Complete standard operating procedures
  • Prepare patients for examinations and procedures
  • Assist provider with patient care
  • At the direction and delegation of the provider, perform approved lab tests and diagnostic testing, prepare and administer designated medications, instill eye drops, and apply topical medications
  • Organize, schedule, complete, and communicate primary care, specialist, and ancillary referrals to patients

Requirements

  • LPN Degree, License to practice professional nursing in the state of North Dakota
  • Licensed to practice nursing in the state of ND or in a compact state
  • Basic life support certified

  • Follows through with necessary procedure or test requests, pre-approved care algorithms, new appointment times and referrals to other facilities or services
  • Refers questions to Registered Nurses and Physician/APC per scope of practice guidelines and relays information back to patient as directed
  • Communicates with Physician/APC and other members of the health care team to ensure smooth clinic flow and adjusts as necessary
  • Effectively communicates accurate and timely information with the patient
  • May perform basic and advanced clinical support tasks or skills based on the specialty and appropriate competencies such as but not limited to removal of sutures and staples, laboratory procedures (throat/nose culture, drug screen), phlebotomy - butterfly, venous heel stick, EKG, spirometry, Holter monitor application, prescription refills using approved protocols, etc., under clinical supervision
