Job Description:

Lead with care. Grow with purpose. An exciting Clinic Coordinator / Nurse role has become available at CareVets Horsham Downs. This is your chance to be part of Hamilton’s newest clinic, helping to shape a supportive, client-focused environment while enjoying a mix of clinical and leadership responsibilities. This role is ideal for an experienced Veterinary Nurse who enjoys interacting with people, wants to step away from the day-to-day desexings (but can step in when needed), and is excited to help build and grow a clinic. With SPCA partnership work, strong support from a wider group of nurses and coordinators, and plenty of opportunities to make the clinic your own, this is a unique opportunity. This role will be a mix of front-of-house duties, nurse consultations, and (if of interest) surgical work. It also includes leadership responsibilities such as supporting rosters, guiding the team, and helping to drive the overall success of the clinic. This role is full-time with no weekend shifts.

Job Responsibility:

  • Inspiring and supporting your team to deliver the highest standard of care
  • Overseeing daily clinic administration and retail operations
  • Mentoring and guiding junior staff
  • Coordinating clinic workflow and scheduling
  • Maintaining high standards of client service and communication
  • Supporting a positive, engaged team culture
  • Developing an understanding of clinic financials and contributing to efficient, sustainable operations

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 2 years’ veterinary industry experience
  • Proven leadership skills
  • Excellent communication skills and a supportive, approachable leadership style
  • Strong organisational skills and a proactive, solution-focused mindset
  • The ability to work well both independently and within a team
  • A calm, composed presence under pressure
  • Customer-facing skills (a strong advantage)
What we offer:
  • Competitive remuneration
  • Generous support for your career development and progression
  • Supportive, non-corporate team culture
  • Ongoing CPD with a generous allowance
  • A genuine family-oriented, non-corporate culture
  • Structured rosters that support work-life balance
  • Staff discounts on veterinary services and retail products
  • Access to confidential counselling
  • NZVNA registration (if applicable)
  • A dynamic leadership team & access to a wide professional network
