Ensure that service charges are accounted for in accordance with the RICS Code of Practice, ARMA-Q rules, Accounting regulations and other HML best practices
To prepare and reconcile the information on PMS, including entering the year end adjustments, reserve fund transfers and checking the expenditure
Dealing with queries from the property managers, accountants and our clients, ensuring that these are responded to within 3 working days
Liaising with the property managers and external auditors via email, over the phone and in person, to obtain approval of the year end service charge accounts within 6 months of the year end date and company accounts within 9 months of the year end date
Preparing the year end balancing service charge surplus/deficit calculation
Inputting the year end balancing amount and raising credit notes/manual demands as appropriate
To assist in the preparation of Section 20b notices, within the 6 month deadline, including the draft expenditure and providing to the Client Accounting Manager/ Client Accountant for their approval
To update the control sheet on a daily basis and ensure that the information is accurate
Assisting with any additional adhoc accounting or administrative task if stipulated by the Client Accountant or Client Accounting Manager
Requirements:
Maths and English at GCSE (A-C) or equivalent
Understanding of all HML Processes, Practices and Ethos
Well-developed interpersonal and oral communications skills
Interpersonal skills and customer focused
Strong organisational skills
Ability to work on own initiative
Ability to work as a team player
Good numerical skills
Diplomacy
Ability to prioritise critical workload and work under pressure and strict time frames
Experience in the property management industry would be a bonus but is not essential
Candidates must be eligible to live and work in the UK
