A well established multidisciplinary consultancy is expanding its technical inspection team and is now seeking an additional Clerk of Works to manage a portfolio of sites across South East London and into Kent. They already have a good Clerk of Works team covering the full South East region and continued growth has created the need for further support across a wider, largely remote area. Candidates based in other parts of London will also be considered, as there is scope to accommodate alternative patches. The role offers a varied workload involving both new build residential schemes and fire safety related projects. Prior fire safety experience isn’t necessary; you’ll have the chance to shadow an experienced inspector, develop new skills and learn on live projects with the right guidance behind you. This is an excellent match for someone who enjoys autonomy and prefers to organise their own workflow. You’ll manage your diary, plan site inspections independently and work with a high level of autonomy and trust. Office attendance is minimal aside from occasional team meetings, contributing to a strong balance between professional responsibilities and personal time. Candidates moving from a Site Manager background have historically moved into this role very successfully, and that pathway remains fully supported. Clear routes for progression are in place, including a structured path toward Senior Clerk of Works status and comprehensive support to work toward membership with the Institute of Clerks of Works and Construction Inspectorate (ICWCI).
