Job Description:

The Clerk/Deputy Treasurer is an appointed, non-represented, exempt position responsible for the statutory duties of Village Clerk as defined in Sec. 61.25 of the Wisconsin Statutes. The Village Clerk/Deputy Treasurer reports directly to the Village Administrator.

Job Responsibility:

  • Administers all elections
  • Serves as custodian of official Village records
  • Ensures compliance with Wisconsin election law, open meetings law, public records law, and local ordinances
  • Supports the Village Board
  • Supervises election officials
  • Issues licenses and permits
  • Assists with administrative and financial operations

Requirements:

  • High School diploma required
  • Associate degree in accounting, business, finance or related field strongly preferred
  • Certified Clerk - WMCA
  • Experience administering an election in the State of Wisconsin, including necessary WEC certifications
  • Knowledge of municipal accounting software (e.g., Caselle)
