Brook Street is proud to be recruiting on behalf of a public sector organisation for a Clerical / Administrative Officer to support a busy court environment in Newport. This is a varied and rewarding role where you will be at the heart of court operations, ensuring hearings run smoothly while providing essential administrative support.
Job Responsibility
Clerk and support court hearings (both in-person and remote via CVP)
Meet and greet court users, guiding them through the process
Set up and manage hearing rooms, ensuring all IT and equipment are operational
Verify documentation and follow structured scripts during proceedings
Liaise effectively with judiciary and court staff
Prepare files and complete general administrative duties
Carry out back-office support tasks as required
Requirements
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Good IT literacy, including Microsoft Office
Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
Confidence working in a professional, public-facing environment
A flexible and reliable attitude
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Enhanced DBS clearance is required for this role

Previous administration or customer service experience
