Oversee and coordinate cleaning operations across the College. Responsible for cleaning task scheduling, workforce supervision, and the delivery of high standards of cleanliness, ensuring that all areas are maintained in line with College policies, health and safety requirements, and agreed service standards. Lead and support a team of cleaning staff, while also undertaking the physical cleaning of designated areas as required, particularly to cover absences, peak periods, or specialist tasks.
Job Responsibility:
Plan, schedule, and allocate cleaning tasks and workloads to ensure effective coverage across all assigned areas
Undertake hands-on/physical cleaning of designated areas when required, including cover for absences, deep cleans, or high-priority tasks
Ensure cleaning is delivered in accordance with agreed schedules, specifications, and quality standards
Ensure all cleaning activities comply with health and safety legislation, COSHH regulations, and College procedures
Maintain a safe, clean, and orderly working environment for staff, students, and visitors
Monitor and manage stocks of cleaning materials, consumables, and equipment
Ensure the correct and safe use, storage, and maintenance of cleaning equipment and materials
Supervise, support, and direct cleaning staff on a daily basis
Assist with the induction and training of new staff, including safe working practices and cleaning standards
Requirements:
Previous experience working in a cleaning or facilities environment
Ability to plan and schedule cleaning tasks and workloads effectively
Good knowledge of cleaning methods, materials, equipment, and safe working practices
Strong organisational and time-management skills
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Basic IT skills (e.g. rotas, emails, simple reporting systems)
Flexibility to work alternating shifts and occasional evenings, as required
