Job Responsibility:
Plan and deliver well‑structured, engaging lessons across the primary curriculum
Assess and track pupil progress, using assessment intelligently to inform planning
Adapt teaching for pupils with a range of needs, including SEND, EAL and higher‑ability learners
Create a classroom environment where pupils feel safe, motivated and confident to take risks
Prepare pupils for assessments and ensure strong progress across the year
Set high expectations for behaviour and achievement
Maintain accurate records and communicate effectively with parents and carers
Contribute to whole‑school initiatives, curriculum development and events
Provide occasional cover where needed
For Upper Pay Scale teachers, additional responsibilities may include mentoring colleagues, supporting curriculum leadership, or contributing to staff development
Work collaboratively with colleagues, support staff and senior leaders
Build strong professional relationships
Contribute positively to the wider school community
Attend meetings, training and appraisal sessions as required
Uphold the highest professional and ethical standards
Follow safeguarding policies and statutory guidance (including KCSIE and Prevent)
Maintain excellent attendance, punctuality and professionalism
Share any safeguarding concerns appropriately with the DSL
