We are looking for a committed, passionate and enthusiastic teacher to join Fulham Prep School as a Class Teacher with ability to teach a range of subjects and years. This is a chance to join a thriving team and help to lead and contribute to the development of excellent provision at an exciting time for the school. This role starts in September 2026 and is a 12 month mat cover position.
Job Responsibility
Provide pastoral care, support academic progress, and maintain good pupil conduct
Deliver high-quality teaching and support pupil progress with pastoral, SEND, and school teams
Plan, prepare, and teach lessons in line with school and departmental policies
Maintain discipline, punctuality, registration, and a positive classroom environment
Set, mark, assess work
monitor progress
write reports and prepare pupils for assessments
Differentiate teaching and provide additional support where required
Communicate with parents and attend parents’ evenings and staff meetings
Contribute to departmental life, trips, assemblies, and shared resources
Attend meetings, assemblies, briefings, and complete cover and supervisory duties
Support and organise whole-school events and extracurricular activities
Act as form tutor and undertake break and lunchtime duties
Uphold behaviour policies, safeguarding, child protection, and staff Code of Conduct
Maintain professional standards of attendance, appearance, and conduct
Follow all school policies and maintain positive relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues
Participate fully in academic, pastoral, and wider school life
Requirements
Qualified teacher with degree and PGCE, QTS or equivalent, and right to work
Strong subject knowledge and understanding of effective teaching standards
Able to plan, deliver, and adapt engaging lessons with high expectations
Skilled in assessment, feedback, and monitoring pupil progress
Committed to safeguarding, pupil welfare, and wellbeing
Experience teaching Key Stage 2 and preparing pupils for assessments
Experience in pastoral care and collaborative teaching teams
Independent school experience desirable
Confident use of ICT in teaching
Strong communication, organisational, and teamwork skills
Able to manage workload, meet deadlines, and work independently
Enthusiastic, flexible, and able to motivate pupils
Willing to contribute to extracurricular and wider school life
Committed to professional development, equality, and school ethos
