Job Description:

We are looking for a dedicated Class Teacher to join our team in April 2026. You will be responsible for delivering a creative, adapted curriculum that meets the holistic needs of your students.

Job Responsibility:

  • Individualised Learning: Assess student needs and plan learning targets aligned with EHC plans
  • IEP Management: Write and evaluate Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for all students in your care
  • Team Leadership: Lead and manage a team of support staff within your classroom to ensure student needs are met effectively
  • Collaboration: Maintain regular, effective communication with parents and carers via preferred methods like Class Dojo
  • Progress Tracking: Use school systems to monitor, record, and evidence student progress throughout the year
  • Curriculum Coordination: Take responsibility for an agreed area of the school curriculum (excluding ECTs)

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential
  • Experience (or a strong interest) in working with students with SLD, PMLD, and autism
  • Ability to demonstrate an understanding of assessment and target setting for young people with SEN
  • A student-centred approach characterised by empathy, resilience, and a sense of humour
  • Outstanding communication and teamwork skills
