We are an established private sector Building Control Approver delivering responsive, high-quality building control services across London and the South East. Due to continued growth across our clients London portfolio, we are seeking a Registered Building Inspector (RBI) to support projects across South West and North London, providing professional plan assessment and site inspection services to residential and commercial clients. The successful candidate will be responsible for undertaking statutory building control functions within the scope of their RBI registration class, ensuring compliance with Building Regulations and associated legislation. The role involves managing a varied caseload of residential, mixed-use and commercial projects across the London region, working closely with developers, architects, contractors and design teams.
Job Responsibility
Carry out site inspections across projects within either the South West and North London
Undertake plan checking and technical assessments for Building Regulations compliance
Review applications, drawings, specifications and supporting documentation
Provide clear technical guidance to clients, contractors and design professionals
Identify non-compliance and advise on practical remedial solutions
Maintain accurate records and inspection reports
Ensure compliance with Building Safety Regulator requirements
Manage caseloads efficiently to agreed service levels
Support project delivery through proactive client communication
Attend technical meetings and design team reviews where required
Maintain professional registration and CPD requirements
Requirements
Registered Building Inspector with the Building Safety Regulator
Minimum Class 2A registration (higher classes desirable)
Proven building control experience within private or local authority sectors
