As a Class 2 HGV Driver, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of goods across various routes, ensuring timely delivery and maintaining the highest standards of vehicle care and compliance. They will work closely with the Group Transport Manager and the sales teams on each site to make sure correct vehicles are distributed.
Job Responsibility
Operate Class 2 HGV vehicles safely and in accordance with all relevant legislation and company policies
Deliver goods to customers across Birmingham and the wider West Midlands area, adhering to scheduled routes and delivery times
Perform routine vehicle inspections and report any defects or maintenance needs promptly
Ensure all loading and unloading is carried out safely and securely to prevent damage to goods
Maintain accurate delivery records, including electronic proof of delivery and vehicle logbooks
Communicate effectively with dispatchers, warehouse staff, and customers to resolve any issues or delays
Uphold company standards regarding health and safety, environmental impact, and customer service
Requirements
Valid Class 2 HGV driving licence with a clean driving record
Previous experience as an HGV driver, ideally within the Automotive & Driving industry or similar sectors
Familiarity with the Birmingham and West Midlands road network and delivery protocols
Good understanding of vehicle maintenance and safety checks
Strong organisational skills and ability to manage time effectively
Excellent communication skills and a customer-focused attitude
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
