Blue Arrow Bristol are recruiting Class 1 Night Trunk Drivers to work for a well known transport and logistics company based in Portbury near Bristol (BS20). The roles are ongoing and full-time - you will be employed through Blue Arrow and work for the same client on an ongoing basis. We can only accept PAYE drivers - no limited company or Umbrella drivers, sorry. The roles are working Monday to Friday and the start times will be between 4-7pm; the shifts will be between 9-13 hours long. The pay rate for these roles is £18 per hour. All candidates will need to pass an assessment which will last for about 3 hours and consist of the following: A questionnaire or driving rules and regulations, Eyesight check, Vehicle check, check/reporting for any defects or safety issues, Actual drive around, Classroom based SSOW (Safe Systems of Work) training. After the assessment, you will then be buddied up with one of their other drivers for a few days so that you can learn the job before you can start working by yourself. The client will consider newly qualified C+E drivers as long as you have worked in a 7.5 tonne or Class 2 role previously. Candidates will need to hold a valid C+E category driving licence, CPC and Digital Tachograph cards and have no more than 6 points on their licence for minor offences (no MS90, IN10, DD or DR or similar endorsements). Due to the location of the company, you will need to have access to your own transport.
Job Responsibility:
Completing trunk runs to and from Yorkshire, Runcorn and Northampton
Delivering or collecting flat packed furniture
Adhering to Safe Systems of Work (SSOW), Health and Safety and relevant Driving and Working Time laws and regulations
Performing vehicle checks and reporting any faults or defects
Following the rules on fuel economy and harsh breaking
Liaising with the depots on a daily basis
Requirements:
Hold a valid C+E category driving licence, CPC and Digital Tachograph cards
No more than 6 points on their licence for minor offences (no MS90, IN10, DD or DR or similar endorsements)
Pass an assessment lasting about 3 hours (including questionnaire on driving rules and regulations, eyesight check, vehicle check, actual drive, classroom based SSOW training)
Newly qualified C+E drivers considered as long as they have worked in a 7.5 tonne or Class 2 role previously
Have access to their own transport due to location
