Class 1 Driver – The Timber Group Herringswell (IP28 6SS) - Drive it. Deliver it. Keep the yard moving and the customers happy – you're the one behind the wheel making it all happen! We’re on the lookout for a skilled Class 1 HGV Driver to take the wheel for long-haul and regional deliveries. You’ll be making sure goods get where they need to be safely and on time, driving an articulated vehicle with confidence. It’s a key role in our logistics team, helping everything run smoothly behind the scenes.
Job Responsibility:
Safely driving a Class 1 HGV across local and long-distance routes
Loading and unloading goods with the right kit
Carrying out daily vehicle checks and flagging any issues
Keeping delivery records tidy and up to date
Sticking to road rules and transport regs
Staying in touch with dispatch and warehouse teams
Making sure deliveries arrive on time and in great condition
Requirements:
Valid UK Class 1 (Category C+E) HGV licence
Driver CPC
Digital tachograph card
Experience behind the wheel of an HGV
Knowledge of UK roads and driving regulations
Confident working independently
Good time management
Great communication and customer service skills
Physically fit for manual loading and unloading
Ability to pitch in with other tasks when needed
Adherence to health and safety guidelines
Nice to have:
Experience with multi-drop deliveries
Knowledge of basic vehicle maintenance
