Understanding and meeting the needs of our consumers is at the heart of Fabric Enhancers product development. As part of the formulation team, you will work in a multi-disciplinary business environment ensuring the development of new technologies and formulations to support our Global Innovation Portfolio. This predominately laboratory-based role will play an important part in delivering new innovations and technologies to the fabric conditioner & liquid booster project pipeline. In Homecare R&D we adopt a digital first approach in designing and executing performance tests therefore we also expect the data capture as an outcome of all laboratory experiments using tools like LIMS, ELN & SDC.
Job Responsibility:
Define and deliver claims strategy and work plan for relevant projects in Fabric Enhancers
Support relevant strategic activities to “raise the game” in the claim generation process
Employ a sound understanding of the category, brands, competitive environment, consumer and technology to develop robust, and where necessary novel, approaches (incl robust consumer insights) to generate, develop and support ambitious product claims/communication
Execute activities that drive technical product understanding and technical consumer insights into creative consumer communications for concept creation, label copy, advertising, public relations
Drive SASSY framework within Claims and KBS
Deliver robust claims support dossier and final recommendation to relevant Teams (approval of all package label copy, advertising briefs and final commercials, public relations materials, and sales materials)
Translate claims into demonstrations that are consumer relevant and drive innovation understanding with consumers, sales, legal, pr/advertising agencies, and external category influencers (magazine editors, etc)
Deliver claims ambition for key brands within the Fabric Enhancer Category
Develop, substantiate, and defend through challenge, big impactful consumer relevant product claims, interacting in a multi-disciplinary business environment providing a critical link between the BG/BU, Legal, Regs and Marketing
Delivery of outstanding claims and communications for our innovations that are robustly supported in technical and consumer understanding
Lead and execute the creation of Knowledge Based Selling, utilising physical technical demos as well as digital assays
Requirements:
BSc or MSc (or equivalent) in Physical Sciences or Engineering (including Physics, Materials Science, Polymer Science, Chemistry or Biochemistry)
Strong experience in product claims generation within homecare, Beauty and wellbeing, personal care or wider FMCG
Strong interface management skills
Interpersonal and communication skills

Analytical capability for results interpretation
Good organisation and time-management
Good communication written and oral to convey information effectively and to influence outcomes
Interact effectively within project team or natural working group to achieve common objectives and goals
Ability to use digital tools like MS Excel, Power Point, LIMS, ELN & SDC and report the outcome of an experiment in a clear concise way
Experimental design, familiarity with statistical tools, statistical data analysis and statistical interpretation of data
Problem solving skills with practical creativity, understand situations or needs and recommend or carry out actions which are relevant and appropriate
Ability to work with in multi-functional teams both internal and external
Attention to detail and accuracy in assessment and reporting is critical
