GEICO’s summer internship will run from approximately June 8, 2026, through August 14, 2026. Our Claims Rotational Internship is a full-time, paid summer program designed to develop future business leaders by rotating interns through various areas of the Claims department: Insurance Claims Services, Casualty, First Party Medical, Physical Damage and/or Commercial, depending on location. You will gain insight into the operations of our Claims department, including how all areas work together, with the opportunity to immerse yourself within one Claims area during the second half of the internship. You’ll work on meaningful projects that address real business priorities, contribute as a valued team member, and gain an insider’s view of the insurance industry. In addition to your departmental experience, you’ll participate in professional development labs, career panels, networking events, and team challenges that strengthen your skills and build your confidence.
Job Responsibility:
Gain knowledge about the insurance industry and gain key knowledge about our claims department
Learn from all levels of operations leadership through department roundtables, dedicated career journey overviews, workshops, and more
Get assigned to an area of claims and participate in a 3-week deep dive focused on project-based work and real-time business needs
Collaborate with peers and professionals on cross-functional challenges and group deliverables
Attend leadership development sessions on communication, problem-solving, and business acumen
Engage with mentors and shadow team members to better understand department roles and functions
Prepare and deliver a capstone presentation summarizing your experience, insights, and impact
Requirements:
Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in business, Finance, Accounting, Risk Management, Economics, Marketing, Management or other relevant major, with expected graduation between December 2026 and May 2027
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Effective verbal and written communication abilities
Effective negotiation and conflict resolution skills
High level of dependability, initiative, and accountability
Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
Demonstrated leadership potential through academic, extracurricular, or work experience
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
