Our client is a Commercial Property and Casualty (P&C) insurance company looking for someone who thrives in fast-moving, dynamic environments. Job Responsibility:

  • Oversight and maintenance of the claims inbox, including claims intake - reviewing claims, determining what type of claim, opening, assigning and acknowledging the claim, closing out claims
  • Accurately entering payments, recoveries and reserve transactions across multiple lines of business
  • Ensure claims processing follows the established processes, procedure, and various agreements and protocols
  • Providing loss runs to underwriters when requested Initiating cash calls for programs handled by outside adjusters
  • Processing of bordereaux – receive, review and input claims information received by way of various bordereaux into the claims system
  • Communicate with and assign panel adjusters and counsel for claims, when required and ensure claims and programs are handled in accordance with established agreements and processes
  • Serve as a point of contact for claims department with questions pertaining to claims operations procedures and processes

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 3-5 years' experience in insurance claims or relevant field
  • C13 – Fundamentals of Insurance or CIP (preferred)
  • Experience working on a team within the Insurance industry
  • Auto experience and regulatory experience with GISA (preferred)
  • Knowledge in multiple lines of business
  • professional and financial lines, commercial, warranty, auto etc.
  • Superior organizational and analytical skills
  • demonstrates ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Advanced proficiency and experience using Excel
  • A high level of attention to detail
  • A proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines, driving for results
  • Experience working closely with others and enjoy an atmosphere of cross-collaboration
  • The ability to thrive in a fast paced and changing environment and be comfortable with ambiguity
  • Superb customer service skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and Outlook)
  • Bilingual (English/French) preferred but not required

What we offer:
  • Compensation of $65,000-72,000 annually with bonus potential
  • Benefits package from day 1, RRSP contribution, 3 weeks vacation, 7 PTO days (after 3 months)
  • Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm - HYBRID - 2 days in office
  • Located in downtown Toronto close to 2 TTC stations
