This role is suited to someone with a strong HR foundation and deep knowledge of Washington workers’ compensation practices, including claim coordination, medical follow-up, and return-to-work support. Job Responsibility
Oversee the full lifecycle of workers’ compensation and related disability claims, ensuring each case is handled accurately and in a timely manner
Coordinate with employees, clients, medical providers, and other stakeholders to support treatment plans, documentation, and recovery progress after workplace incidents
Review claim details, maintain organized records, and monitor case activity to help resolve issues, denials, or delays efficiently
Apply working knowledge of Washington State L&I requirements to guide claim handling, compliance, and communication throughout the process
Partner with internal and external contacts to support return-to-work planning, rehabilitation follow-up, and ongoing claim status updates
Conduct claim audits and evaluate files for completeness, accuracy, and alignment with client and regulatory expectations
Use HR and claims systems effectively, including proprietary tools, to document activity and track case milestones
Build strong client and employee relationships by offering approachable, service-oriented support during complex or sensitive claim situations
Requirements
Experience managing workers’ compensation, accident, disability, or medical claims in an HR or claims environment with strong attention to detail
Strong knowledge of Washington State L&I processes and applicable workers’ compensation practices
Background in HR administration with the ability to navigate employee-related issues connected to workplace injury claims
Demonstrated ability to manage claim documentation, audits, follow-up tasks, and case coordination with a high level of accuracy
Comfortable working with HRIS or other case management systems to maintain records and monitor claim progress
Effective communication and relationship-building skills with a collaborative, approachable working style
Ability to handle sensitive matters with discretion while balancing multiple active claims and deadlines
